My work on the upcoming movie Little Heroes

Here are some images of the work I did for the upcoming 3D animated movie (Pequeños Héroes) Little Heroes by Juan Pablo Buscarini. I worked at the art department, painting the characters, designing some of their additional accesories which later were used as reference by the 3D sculptors and also did some color key work.

Animatic for Corona - "La Vida Tiene Algo Extra"

I did the animatic for this commercial. A playblast render made with Maya.



The street and main buildings of a location in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, were modeled in scale to sync the camera movements with the soundtrack. Here some screenshots from the Maya playblast:

The first one took me around an hour and a half. The others took me from around 15 to 30 minutes.

iAnimate

Old little coffee shop / Cafecito antiguo

Here's an illustration I came up with. I wanted to give it a realistic mood, while at the same time combining some funny look for character designs and the trees, among other things. As usual, click on the image to enlarge.

Watercolor sketches

Lately I've been interested in making quick watercolor sketches outdoors. This allows you to understand more about the colors and how light plays an important role. Needless to say how good is to practice at drawing quickly to capture the essence of things.

Storyboards I did recently

Here there are some samples from storyboards I did for advertisement recently. The first sheet is for a commercial proyect and the rest are for a commercial due to be shot soon and it belongs to Quest, a Colombian jean factory.

Working on BG / Trabajando un fondo

Here's the layout I'm currently working on, to create a background which is inspired in an old classic neighborhood. I still have to add many details, as well as a few characters.

I will upload the final images when I'm done with this.
